Detetntion Drywells

WaterSilo detention drywells incorporate stormwater detention volumes ranging from 2,500 to 25,000 gallons.  The detention volume is provided by vertically installed 4-ft tall, 12-ft diameter concrete caissons, installed either by Caisson Sinking or Caisson Stacking technolgies.

In Caisson Sinking, the first caissons is placed over the ground surface and the soil inside is mechanically excavated causing it to sink.  This is followed by placing the second caisson over the first and continuing the excavation.  The process is repeated untill all caissons are sunk in.

In Caisson Stacking, a vertical shaft is bored by large-diameter auger drilling and the caissons are vertically stacked inside the shaft from bottom up.

WaterSilo Detention Drywells are fitted with weep holes to cause infiltration through the perimeter surface, and also infiltrate through the gravel bottom. They can be fitted with a a gravel-filled shaft at the base to increase the infiltration rate.
